Giraffes have had a lot of names. For instance:
"zirafah" - a Malayan word that means '"the tallest of all"
Or:
"camelopards" from the Greeks and Egyptians, who thought the giraffe came from a mixture of camels and leopards.
Fun Fact Did you know? A giraffe's neck has the same number of neck bones you do -- only seven. Of course, a giraffe's neck bones are much larger than yours - sometimes more than 10 inches high - can you imagine your neck 10 inches higher?
